"The physicality of entrapment, consumption, and childhood fear, encased within a womb of bricks and furniture."
This series of images are titled: '32'
Being the number of the house i was born and lived in for 22 years.
Also being the stage (in weeks) of pregnancy when the foetus starts to recognize sounds, and physically kick out at the womb.
Lets delve in to a pool so deep, it's hard to know when we shall return.
For my head is a very strange place to be...
Themes within my new works are as follows:
Female body, space, childhood fear, entrapment, consumption, violence, lost, fallen, hair, Japanese/korean ghosts, trauma, fantasy, imagination, disability, furniture, darkness...
A taster of the work =]

Love the photographs. They're different and interesting.
ReplyDeleteHi Ani, Indigo here. I really connected with these two photos for some reason. [I hope my next sentence will read as a compliment.] They are extremely evocative, and I found them disturbing on a personal level. The room in the first one felt very familiar. Or perhaps it was the lighting? I'm not sure. Anyway, very effective work. Indigo
